There's no 'maximum legal number' of pickup you can swap into a guitar, so there is no downside to trying it. Plus our guesses on what you might appreciate tonally are just that.....guesses.
Plenty like humbuckers in strat length scale. And the EVH tone was basically a slightly overwound PAF with strat scale.....so its not like its not been done before.

No long scale to help give it "snap" No maple top to help with "bright or highs" But now it really has a kick, an edge,
a real touch of grit that pushes an amp well, like a Blues Jr. into overdrive without pedals or "master gain". It is one of my two guitars I take when I gig, which is not often, so I want to impress when I get the chance. Not so much show off as sound the best and play the best I can.
I almost got one for my Strat, but it has a 59/Custom that is a little louder and I need mine custom made. (Long story).
So, I bet that WLH would be GREAT in a longer scale. Damn, I just can't buy any more gear right now.

SJ318, thank you. That was more or less the kind of reply I was looking to hear. Just wanted to hear from anyone that might have had tried them out in a longer scale guitar. Some of us don't have the funds to buy numerous pickups to swap in and out.

Pickup swaps are a lottery....you could be the one person that defies the trend, and the only way you will ever know that is by spending the money - unfortunately.
Some one could find that for them they are the best pickup ever to have been installed into a strat scale guitar, and yet the chances of you liking them in your rig still remain the same.

I don't see why it wont work in a Strat. Maybe a bit bright, but a 250k volume control can fix it.
If people use a Duncan '59, the WLH should work fine.
I hope so, because I recently ordered the Trembucker TB-18 for my Warmoth Strat! (it is Alder + QMT)

I've been using the WLH in my Warmoth strat. I have 250k Volume and 500k Tone control. My Strat is Alder body with QMT and Gotoh hardtail bridge.
The Pickup has balanced EQ. First impression is that is a nicely behaved pickup and not too bright. The WLH has less mids than the Suhr Thornbucker and Dimarzio Fred I used in this guitar previously.
The thing that surprised me is how much the harmonics come out when turning up the gain. The harmonics come out more easily than the Fred, and I feel its a bit too much for this brighter than average Strat. Probably it would be fantastic in a Gibson guitar. The brightness of the coil-split tone one of the best I found. That gives a good position 2 notch tone with the HSS pickup configuration.

I have a WLH bridge in a SSH Squire along with a SD SSL-5 (mid) and a Lindy Fralin Vintage Hot neck. The WLH isn't overly bright, but I assumed it was because of the Squires Wood makeup. It's a different sound/makeup from my 76 Strat. She just makes almost any pickup sound good.

I'm running mine in my PRS McCarty. I get an excellent variety of tones and the split tones are superb. I can cover Stratty tones without swapping guitars. I'm currently using it at the local jam night so I need a great sounding, flexible guitar and this covers it.
