Yep, it's a Seymour Duncan Classic Cover in nickel.

awesome. i was a bit concerned as to whether they'd look right together, but beandip gave me a comforting "stop being a pussy and play the **** guitar" :laugh2:

Re: Wonker’s Gibson Flying V Faded Ebony Project

I think if Gibson came to me right now and offered to make me a signature series guitar it would be a better copy of this guitar (Fit and Finish wise) with no wear marks in the finish.

I played it for a few hours before I went to bed last night and it plays and sounds great. I like the covered sh-6b and 500k pot team through the 5150.

(cause phat cats dont come in chrome)

My next V will be a worn white with a black pickguard and a bridge Phat Cat.

Thats awesome!!
Exactly what Ive been wanting to go along with my mirror explorer! Only thing Id change for myself is the covered pickup. Id go black for contrast, but yours looks great!
Waiting for the review!

Here's a picture from the show, the guitar sounded awesome.

I don’t have enough good things to say about the covered SH-6b. I love the normal uncovered SH-6b, it’s my 2nd favorite pickup, but with the cover it seems to have taken some of the over the top harshness and just left the power.

Guitar is about 90% done. I'm waiting on my nut and saddles from Graph Tech. I haven't played it that much yet, but I like the covered SH-6b so far. I'm going to use it at a show tomorrow night and the post up what I think.

Paul Stanley saw your post and said he wishes it was 1976 and he had that V. :naughty:

Very nice!!

PSSSTTT!!! Rig another pickguard like that with a Duncan P90 3B with interchangable connectabilty. :cool2:

Re: Wonker’s Gibson Flying V Faded Ebony Project

I don't like V guitars as a general rule, unless it's the white on white gibson version.

This one though, get's an A+ in my book. I would play that soooo hard.

**** that looks like THE rock guitar to have. Well done sir, well done. I myself would have sprung for a tone knob, but hey. To each his own, make sure she's nota dust ornament.

My $.02 on the TonePros Bridge/Stoptail Set with Graph Tech String Saver Tune-o-matic Saddles after a few days of playing...

TonePros said:
A TonePros bridge will stay in place and not wiggle at all (even thread play is reduced). As a result, the instrument stays in tune better, has improved sustain, and harmonics will seem to jump out of your guitar.

Patented pinch freezes and solidifies your bridge and tailpiece
Stays solidly set without movement
Improves intonation, sustain, and tuning stability

I haven’t noticed any improvement that I can “Hear” from using these parts.

Now having said that I will use TonePros parts on my next build just because of the Locking Bridge and Stoptail…that feature kicks butt!

Graph Tech String Saver Tune-o-matic Saddles

Graph Tech said:
What do they sound like? Metal saddles have a pronounced 2 KHz treble spike that dominates the tonal spectrum. String Saver Originals have a more balanced tone with sizzling highs, full mids, and big open lows. You will also notice an increase in sustain by up to 25% over brass saddles and 15% over steel.

Reduces string breakage
Increases sustain
Improves midrange depth
Super lubricating
Improves tuning
Corrosion resistant

I haven’t noticed any improvement that I can “Hear” from using these parts and won’t spend the money again on these.
