Woohoo! New DiMarzio's for Biu's SX Strat!

I'm getting some new DiMarzio's for my SX from Chris Grimmett (Chris' Guitars). I'm trading in my Seymour Duncan JB and Big Muff Pi (Don't really use it anymore) for a DiMarzio HS-2 and DiMarzio Stacked Humbucker to go in the neck/mid positions of my strat. I also scored a DiMarzio Fast Track 2 for bridge off Ebay. Soon, my SX will be all hot-rodded and ready to BURN! I'll get some clips of it as soon as I do.

Just wanted to share some of the good news! :)

Cool. I'm going to buy an SX Strat in the next week or two. I was thinking about trying some DiMarzios in it out of curiosity. I've already tried a couple of SD's humbucking singles.

Will do, Ken. Have you checked out my latest clips? It actually may be a while before I record clips, I might get some new recording stuff and sell off the old. But maybe I'll lay down a few tracks, who knows :13:

BluesJunkie, you will like it, SX makes great guitars! I'm putting in DiMarzio's for a super-fat, extreme metal sound.

You'll like the FT2, I have one in the bridge of my Charvel and Pro Tracks in the neck & mid. This setup dose METAL very well.

Are yours wired in Series or Parallel? I'm gonna put a push/pull pot on all the pickups so I can get parallel sounds like Paul Gilbert.

Re: Woohoo! New DiMarzio's for Biu's SX Strat!

How good are these SX Strats anyway? How do they hold up against, like a Fender MIM or MIJ Strat, which are so ever popular?

Re: Woohoo! New DiMarzio's for Biu's SX Strat!

SX Strats are really great guitars. I think it's better to change out some of the parts though, especially the electronics. Everything else holds up really well though. Compared to Fender, I'd say they are more of a working man's beater guitar type of thing. Something that sounds good and can take a beating. I'd say they are pretty accurate copies though :13:
