Worth it to re-tolex?

So I've pretty much decided to sell my 5150II stack and downsize to a JCM800 combo. However, the head has had a pretty rough life. I mean, it's not TERRIBLE, but it has a few cigarette burns, stains, and small tears (the guy I bought it from played in A LOT of raunchy bars apparently). I've seen much worse, but it's not exactly great. Would it be worth it new tolex put on before I put it on Ebay? How much does that usually cost? Does the cost of getting it done justify the increased price it will bring?

hard to say.... most likely if you are selling it anyways just sell it as is... you'd more then likely spend more time and money fixing it up to get more, then finding a buyer to take it as is..

besides like guitars those are battle scars... some players really dig that the amp has really been used! Maybe the next Crazy thing will be Relic'd Amps....

I think you'll do better to sell it as is - I don't think you'd recoup the money from having it re-tolexed.

In my experience, people don't mind an amp that looks a bit tatty as long as it works well and sounds good. Just make sure you're honest in your eBay description.
