I want to put a pearly gates pick up from my les paul copy to my start but i dont want it to sound or seem weird with that pup in it
One guy did it, and the PG ate a hole thru his Strat, honest.
The PG's attack and its bright tone make it more single coil flavor than most humbuckers. It is a very popular combination with single coils. I had one in a strat and it didn't sound out of place at all.
i run a pair of pearlys in a strat and love it!
I don't dislike the PG really Lew...In my case maybe just a combination of the guitar and the stuff after the guitar...That's why it's good that these days we have all these cool choices...Beats having to sell a guitar or let the guitar sit because of a dead pickup,or a guitar that just doesn't quite satisfy! Just different strokes I guess?
I watched this video before...Great clip of the pickups..Agreed.
My personal suggestion is actually to keep the PG, and replace the Strat with a Les Paul. Now THAT would be righteous sounding!
Whoa! You're on a roll today Aceman. Best advice I've seen in a long time.
