Ive not long ago installed a pair of PG's in my 335, and one of the first things that came into my head when i plugged in and switched on the birdge pickup was "man...i reckon this would sound great in a strat".

This one only has gibson 57's in it, but i reckon a PG would sound epic.

Do it. If u don't like it, there's only a thousand more options to spend the rest of your life obsessing over. Before long you'll be selling your furniture and sleeping in your car to afford more pickups. But go for it. Welcome to the dark side.

I LOVE the PG in a Strat. Used to have one before I went full on SSS. Someday if I can be bothered wiring it up I'll go back to that Klein neck and middle and PG bridge combo. If a Tele bridge pickup and a PAF had a baby, their offspring would be the Pearly Gates. Because of the tone of the PG, you can skip some of the issues with having to balance a warm, medium output PAF and a pair of bright and low output singles. In some setups it'll still have the issue a lot of bridge singles have though (machete slicing your eardrums), but I find that to be the exception, not the rule.

If you listen to that pickup shootout that was done some time ago in the Gearslutz forum, you'll realize that in a lot of ways, the PG is a very unique pickup. Except for the fact that well, it bucks hum.

I havent read any of the replies as I dont have time right now.. But that wouldnt be weird at all. Matter of fact, should be downright awesome! Fender had a strat model out a few years ago that I absolutely LOVED! Cant recall the model name but it came in a light green and had texas special singles in the neck and mid and had a Pearly Gates Plus in the bridge. Awesome axe! Some felt the PG plus was alil too bright, the PG should fix that. Should be a rocking axe for you
