would wallpaper deaden a guitar?

it's a simple, straightfoward question. if i had a thin layer of nitrocellulose and then wallpaper would it deaden it too much or would it be fine?

I don't think it will alter the sound very much. That's how Fender built the pink paisley, and blue floral guitars in the late 60's.

I think if it's only on the front, it won't kill the tone, although it does effect the resonance of the body a little.

I've seen some guitars covered in leather, denim, tweed, snakeskin, masonite, or flecktone concrete paint. In those instances, it really did kill the sound of the body. In those cases, they covered the front, back, and sides though.
