Wouldn't it be cool if Duncan made Cables?

I think Duncan should make a line of cables...Cables at different price points, but specifically , the same silver cables as engineered into the Zephyr line. That would be so awesome I couldn't sleep at night in anticipation of getting a pair of 12 ft. Zephyr cables.
I would expect to pay about 450.00 for a 12 ft. cable.
Before you laugh, consider this- we have amps and guitars worth thousands, why not the best cable to reproduce the signal?

Worms, meet Can Opener.

You don't even buy good guitars. Why would you buy a $450 cable?

Re: Wouldn't it be cool if Duncan made Cables?

well, I would. I mean, I would if i could afford it.
You havent bought a good guitar either since your last Les paul, teee hee.

Electric guitar is not about audiophile quality.

Valid point, with humungous respect, sir, it*MIGHT be, no? Becasue yes, the 'Zephyr' is, and so why not Zephyr cables? Am I wrong?
The Zephyr was about bridging a gap twixt hi-fi and normal guitar . It was a brilliant, well executed idea, and I think you, above all people, a learned an accomplished jazz guy, would be hip to that.

Yeah, but how many of us tone-dogs have actually plunked down our dinero for a set of Zephyrs?

Bill

I getcha Jerry.
But even with silver wire etc. Guitar pickups are pretty damn low fi.

....which is why we like em ;)

However I am sure that if somebody sold 400 buck cables, some other sucker would buy them. Yours is probably a genius marketing idea now i think about it!

Electric guitar is not about audiophile quality.

When I had the setup with the Mesa Boogie Studio Preamp and the JBL poweramp it was near audio quality. I didn't like it at all. There was a sterile aspect to the tone and the response was weird for a lack of a better description. Don't get me wrong the tone was fantastic but there was something about the feel that was lacking.

Because a guitar & amp can last a lifetime, no matter what quality of lead you have if you get more than a year out of it you're lucky

Re: Wouldn't it be cool if Duncan made Cables?

yeah i'm in the market for pedal board patch cables. I'm more interested in playing music than making them myself

I just threw our a bright red guitar cable I bought 35 years ago. ; )

Re: Wouldn't it be cool if Duncan made Cables?

I want to see some MIT 350 Reference guitar cables.

Re: Wouldn't it be cool if Duncan made Cables?

I have spent fairly big on George L's
I like them , I like that I can make them to custom lengths.
I like the brighter sound I get from them

I have bought the $25 Carvin cables

With that said my go to cable now is a $5 GC special

The market would be small . So the price would have to be high to justify production costs
