Ya, especially considering the one that he did crank up sounded like it had monster gain, and he said it wasn't at all a metal amp!

Re: Wow, Ark Amps look and sound delicious!

I cannot respect any amp company which produces such ostentatious and impractical woodwork as this monstrosity:

Those are lookers but at the same time they are not. Something about the looks of them are just too much, if that makes sense. No doubt some talented craftsmen, but still not my cup of tea

My first impresion was the Flintstones....that wing-thing is hideous

That wing-thing was just added for shock factor at trade shows; NOT a normal model for sure;)

Some of the more subtle ones aren't so bad, but some are all the way over the top.

Yeah, well for trade shows we like to go all out for shock value, it DOES get people into the room to see what's up with 'em.

And some folks really dig the really wild stuff believe it or not;)

The Aviator and the custom GK59 with cab(pictured above) I designed myself is aimed more at those who are only comfortable in the more traditional but with some styling that still connects to our unique identity. We decided early on that we did not want to be another rectangle box maker, that is being done over and over again and as artists we just want to be unique and creative.

I don't mind so much (anymore) that some people don't dig our style of woodcrafting, at least most of those people say they SOUND good;)

We are in the new issue of Vintage Guitar in case you want to read some history about us;)
Peace,

first, ark, welcome to the forum and best of luck with your endeavour

second - very attractive work you have there ... not exactly 'bar band playing covers to drunks friendly', but would have a place on many a pro stage

cheers
