WOW - got massive tone out of my 50cal!

Decided to look for massive lead tone out of my mesa 50cal+ combo tonight cos no one was home...and man did i find it!

Cranked the clean channel and put my Ulbrick 12axe distortion pedal in front of it on full and the sound was huge! Just huge! And that was just the first time i found something like that with that amp so im guessing it can get a fair bit better.

Its amazing what a crank does with tubes

I dont know though if i can record it to full potential, i only have a berihnger cardiod microphone, nothing special, i mean its a good quality mic but not a real recording one i dont think.

any suggestions for recording at loud volumes?

maybe just when it hits the mixer have the gain on the mixer down really low, get it just hittin reds and hit record?
