Re: Wow. I have no respect for what is sacred.

Hi guys, it's me, the infamous 'tube hater', I'm still alive and kickin' (thread must not've sunk in yet).
First of all, I don't hate ...tube amps. I know I got all overly 'dramatique' above, it's just that for the first time in my mature musical life I find myself increasingly becoming outspoken (as in aloud) about my musical convictions.
Like many young folk, they are bombarded with, 'useful' information older, and supposedly more, mature musician's 'feed' them to what's the best in tone. I guess, for me, when I plug into my solid state, and get overly harmonic overdrive, the tube feel, and it not being tube, I think how 'impressionable minds' get all rabid about tube tone and they don't even know there's an art to tweaking something as 'simple' as general eq. Being older now and being free from the clutches of evil (me being dramatic again), I can think about just making great songs now and not putting an overt obsession with tone. Don't get me wrong though, it took me 5 months to acheive my current tone with nothing but guitar and amp (hence why I recognize it's an art), but I'm just a guy who is somewhat all about the quickest fix when it comes to makin' music.
I get great tone and feel from my SS, I can kick it over and it's relatively easy to replace (inexpensive and plentiful), no waiting to standby for tubes to warm up and cool down for transport, etc.
I, by no means am putting tubes down, heck, if to me they turned me into a giant and made me King of Mars, and didn't have to be cared for so, and I wasn't fickle with my cash, I'd maybe own one.
But, please, no one should feel offended about my enthusiasum for great inexpensive tone. Just get riled up 'bout the haters who ears aren't yet open (or staunch, clenched cheeked, tone mongers) about getting good tone from different amps-- inexpensive or boutique, but in this case SS.
