wow love the MXR Micro Flange

a month ago i bought an MXR Micro Flange... had it special ordered in for me... didn't get to try it as my sisters husband died suddenly and i had to fly to the west coast for a while and help her out... well last night i tried it out and man it's nice and thick sounding flange... just what i wanted... does that Baracuda Flange well... but it does a thicker sweep then my Boss Flanger that i also love... The old 1987 Boss Flanger i've been using since 87 i have it set for a very flat sound and you hardly notice i have it on, but it helps my amps go straight into sustian and feedback... this MXR is a nicer sounding pedal for a stronger effect

Re: wow love the MXR Micro Flange

Thicker than the Boss BF3?

Hmmm... :scratchch I'm gonna have to check that out!

Thanks!

Re: wow love the MXR Micro Flange

i've been reading some good reviews on this Micro Flanger... The new Guitar Player gives it an Editors Picks award... they say it's not as nice as the 4 knob full sized MXR Flanger but still great... I love it...

Re: wow love the MXR Micro Flange

I love phasers and flangers but I haven't been able to locate one of those Micros here to try

but my store (where I go to get everything, I mean) just got the ADA re-ish !!! I can't buy such things now but I will go down and try it for sure.

They also have this one; it's kinda neat, but the takeoff button makes a horrible preset noise and you can't change it at all -- and I mean it is really awful awful awful sounding. Kills the whole thing for me because I would hate to accidentally step on that.

Taxi mode is cool, but takeoff is the ugliest noise, not a guitar sound at all.

I *think* that all 3 , the Micro. the ADA, the Airplane, might be in the same department flavor-wise. Unlike say the other MXR (the 4-knob) or an Ibanez FL.

Re: wow love the MXR Micro Flange

ya oneday i'd love a 4 knob MXR Flanger and the ADA reissue too... but the Micro is working well and takes up very little space... so far all i have is 2 pedals in front of my Marshalls... the Vox Satchuator as it just seems to be made for boosting Marshalls perfectly... and then i have the MXR Micro Flanger... next i'd love to add a Phase 90 and a Carbon Copy but i'm in no hurry... this simple 2 pedal set up works fine!

Re: wow love the MXR Micro Flange

Hard to dial in a bad sound on the micro however I am not too thrilled about the volume boost above unity.... same goes for the micro chorus.
