Wow! new Epiphone Prophecy at MF!

Re: Wow! new Epiphone Prophecy at MF!

not my kind of guitar really at all, but I have to admire its details...

Gold screws/hardware, cool knobs etc.

Yeah it looks like an ESP.

Better than most gibsons lookswise anyway, but some of the worst guitars I've ever played were set neck epis, though that was a few years ago.

Still expensive imo.

Re: Wow! new Epiphone Prophecy at MF!

Nice guitar, but kind of pointless to have 24 frets on an LP style guitar.

Re: Wow! new Epiphone Prophecy at MF!

If you're into metal & distortion, they'd be great (actives & ceramics). Epiphone is offering SG, LP, and 335 models for everyone; almost every color, finish, and configuration you can think of. I'm glad to see them giving the public what they want at a fair price. A+ for effort.

To me, when it comes to mid-price import SG's, its hard to beat a red Epi SG Std (G-400) with a '59N/C5 pair. Great looks & tone.

I like the looks of that guitar. It looks kind of like one of my Epiphones. I wish mine had gold haedware like that one.

Re: Wow! new Epiphone Prophecy at MF!

There was a thread about those some time ago, like the man said, completely pointless to but 24 frets and still keep the old LP cutaway/heel.
ESP made those Eclipses different for a reason...

Re: Wow! new Epiphone Prophecy at MF!

it's funny cuz i was just thinking about how i don't have a guitar with EMGs in it, and I don't really wanna put EMGs in my Warmoth......

but since there's no V and nothing in green, they lose. sorry epiphone!

Re: Wow! new Epiphone Prophecy at MF!

I just noticed something, the neck joint is shifted down by 2 frets. It normally joins the body at the 16th fret, but on these Prophecy models, it joins on the 18th.

You know, you can replace the hardware with gold. I've just done that to a black Epi SG Std. Looked to dark & gothic (and Batman-ish) with chrome. With gold hardware it has that classy LP Custom look. Much better. And then you have a spare chrome set when needed for another guitar.
