Ark Amps

I like the basic amp styles but I don't care for the extra wood sticks and art-deco crap sticking out. The short audio samples they have sound great. Pricey amps though.

Hahaha that looks funny, but it sure does sound nice from the videos. I can see it being great for Zeppelin stuff. Like Traveling Riverside Blues.

Kind of like how the Vox Night Train looks like a cute little toaster.

Glad to see they're still in business. Also, wish I could get my hands on one... My uncle does high-end custom wood work and I'm thinking about having him make my Egnater some sort of arty, custom hardwood cabinet...

you know what's weird? I think 50s and 60s electronics with metal and even plastic look more artistic than an amp crafted from wood, but that's just me!

We shouldn't encourage the depletion of hardwoods by purchasing these amps. We can't reduce our carbon footprint if we go around cutting down forrests full of redwoods to make something as frivolous as toothpicks!

In all seriousness, there's plenty of easily renewable woods that can be used. Even if they're not hard enough, there's probably a natural way of reinforcing them.

Glad you posted this.
Did not realize Matt was still in business. I know he has a partner as well.
They make amps that any guys wife would not mind sitting in the living room.
I have only heard one...and that was several years ago.
Cool amps.
Glad they were able to make a go of it.

So about this population problem? Surely you would start somewhere right? Who would be first on the list to go? Who would stay? Who would lead this movement?

But what does an oak amp sound like? If it doesn't contribute to the tone its just cosmetic and it wouldn't make any difference if it was made from plastic, metal or wood.

Again, you totally missed the point. If you feel so strongly about it then replace all of your wood guitars with plastic ones. Stop using computers and conventional electricity. Get rid of your cellphone and use a couple of tin cans and a string. There is a relative handful of people in this world who are entirely self-sufficient. Everyone else is a hypocrite.
