I would think the cloth allows airflow
The wood would cause the internals to over heat quickly

The cloth already covers solid wood. It has plenty of ventalation.

Can't wait to see it. Either brown/tan or black/green would look good. I'd probably stick with black ostrich for the bulk of it so it matches more cabinets.

Before buying chicken head knobs, make sure there's enough space between the knobs so the pointers don't hit each other.

Agree, the new color on the wood is WAY better. Very nice job. I like the ostrich cover a lot.
