I just got a Crate V32H head in January. 30 watts, 12AX7's and EL84's. I'd offer to sell you mine but I see MF has them marked down to less than what I paid.

I think it's a great amp for the money. I'm just not totally crazy about the distorted tone. It;s a little ragged. But that may be an EL84 thing. A few days ago I was playing the riff from Sunday Bloody Sunday through it, with just a little breakup, and it nailed the tone. Turn the gain up and you get a higher gain version of the ragged tone that the Edge was using. It's not an EL34 / Marshall type distortion, really.
At moderate gain, it gets a great AC/DC or Moving PIctures era Rush tone too.

highly recommend a Laney LC15 / LC15R.

All tube class A 15 watt amp - can get very loud and has a fantastic range of tones. I use mine to have a "liquidy" shredder tone for practicing at home with a overdrive pedal in front of it, but it can easily do any warm clean / rock sound.

Heard they have had some issues with reliability but I got mine used and been using it without any problems for over a year... *touch wood*

I've been wanting one of these for a long time, but didn't know MF had these marked down. Gotta keep repeating my mantra: "Just cause it's a great deal doesn't mean you can AFFORD it. . ."

Sorry 'bout that. I was just tryin' to help a bro out. It's a pretty decent amp.
Uncle Sam should be mailing those stimulus checks out starting next month. Maybe then you can afford one.

Don't get me wrong -- I appreciate the heads-up myself, since I hadn't seen it posted anywhere else. It just creates a quandary for me.

Looks like they're backordered until mid-April anyway. It'll give me time to scheme. And you're right: there's always that stimulus check out there.
