WTB: SSS Pickups for my Squier Stratocaster.

Hello everyone!
I'm looking forward to swapping the pickups of my Squier Strat and getting some real tone in there.

I have been considering the following sets:
STK-S9b + STK-S7 (for middle & neck)
Texas Hot Antiquity or Antiquity II Surfers(with RW + Hotter Custom Bridge)
Lace Sensors: Emerald, Silver, Purple
Dimarzio Injectors, Tone Zone S, Super Distortion S, etc.

Please let me know if you have them or what can you offer.
I got a Vintage Noiseless neck/middle pickup in the guitar if anyone is interested.

Thank you!

What kind of sound are you going for? What pedals and amp? Personally, I love the Surfers, or a Surfers/Custom set, but I am not sure what you are going for yet.

Re: WTB: SSS Pickups for my Squier Stratocaster.

Yeah, that's a pretty wide range of pickups you listed there...

What kind of music do you play? What amp are you using?

Are you going more for a classic "hot strat" sound or a humbucker sound, just in a single coil size?

Do you want to stick with noiseless pickups or are you ok with true single coils?

I don't got a planned sound yet for the Strat. I have humbuckers guitars mostly: SH-5 (Duncan Custom) + 59' neck, Slash Alnico II Pro's.
A Blackstar HT-40, MXR Bad Ass Distortion 78', and Dunlop Crybaby 535q are part of my amp/pedal chain.

I don't like the 60 cycle noise some single coils generate. Some more than others, but if they produced actual good tone.... Other than that I would prefer noiseless pickups.

I have liked the Texas Hot set sound videos I have seen, but don't want to repeat the Alnico II formula I have on my Flying with the Slash Alnico II Pro.
From the clips I have seen, the pickups I posted could get me in the wanted direction. Do you have any experience with those stacks?
I could purchase Malmsteen's stacks for a great price, but I still haven't like the tone of those pickups in any video I have seen/heard.

Hello masta'c!
I play a little bit of everything. It's hard to put me in a specific genre really, but YES! I would like something like a hot strat sound in the neck/middle position, with good cleans; but that can play with gain too! The bridge is the place I want/need something strong in there. I did like the HSS Shawbucker Fender I played last summer. A humbucker in the bridge position adds the power/tone I want out of a Strat, but in this particular case... I would prefer it remain a SSS guitar. The best deal I have had (for now) is a deal for a YJM Fury Set; but they still don't convince me. I would prefer another type of stack like a STK-S9 in the bridge. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xpFnR8STyl8 It sounds like a WINNER in the gain department for me. I wonder how it will play with a little less gain. The Hot Stack (STK-S2) demos I have seen, also sound pretty nice.

I really would like something nice to record and gig with from time to time. I already have these tones: SH-5/59n , Slash AIIPRO's, 498t/490r; so feel free to make suggestions. PS. I'm not a million notes per second (shredder) type of guy. More bluesy a la Joe Bonamassa, Gary Moore, Hendrix. Rockin' as Aerosmith, Joe Walsh, etc. That kind of tone!
Of course! Something nice and strong in the bridge is really appreciated! :)

Thank you Frank! So sad to see it today! :(
I would have purchased at least the JB Jr. (and could have saved me a new pickguard purchase).
Thanks!

I'm now just a pickup away for the new pickup configuration.
I got a JB Humbucker, STK-S6 single coil...
Who has a Lil 59, a STK-S7 or something nice for the neck position?

Re: WTB: SSS Pickups for my Squier Stratocaster.

I will say that the Lil 59 is a great neck pickup in a Strat. It doesn't sound Stratty, but it isn't supposed to. It gets a nice, dynamic, clean PAF sound that does a lot of other things really well.

Thank you Mincer! I have been reading the thread comments and considering the Lil 59' neck pickup for the guitar. It actually is my favorite neck humbucker, so it should't be any different in a Strat setting. I still haven't made a final decision, but have considered using the Fender Vintage Noiseless in the middle position. With it being Alnico II, with a 5/3/6 EQ, and a aprox 9.8k DC Resistance; I still don't know how it will react to the other (high output) pickups.

I'm listening to offers, so if you or anyone has a Lil 59 or a Stack Single Coil; please let me know!
Thank you!

Re: WTB: SSS Pickups for my Squier Stratocaster.

Personally, to pep up a Squier Strat I'd look at GFS pickups from Guitar Fetish. I put a set of their Greybottoms in a pre-CBS-style Highway One and couldn't be happier, especially for the price tag ($60 for the set, now they're closer to $70 but still less than half the cost of an SSL-2 set). The Texas Greybottom set with an overwound bridge is probably right up your alley.

Would have loved to know more about those GFS before pulling the trigger for a STK-S6 and a JB Humbucker, (meaning) my guitar is going to become HSS soon.
I'm still thinking about the right pickups for the middle or neck position. As I just wrote here, I got a STK-S6, the stock Squier pickups, a Fender Vintage Noiseless (neck/middle), and a JB with me.

What pickup should I get or use for the middle position? I still don't know which position to use the STK-S6 for!
If anyone's selling a STK-S6, STK-S7 or something that can be used in this guitar, please let me know!
One kind member already wrote to me, but I would like to know which options I have. Got only one more shot now.
Thanks!

Re: WTB: SSS Pickups for my Squier Stratocaster.

You made the right choices with the JB and STK-S6. Put the S6 in the neck. Get a STK-S4n for the middle. You get overwound Strat sounds in the neck, some quack for the middle and everything remains quiet and hum-free.

Thanks man! The guitar is now with my guitar tech.

Sadly, I got another issue. The place where the tremolo bar goes in, (the block?) is busted.
I need something that can fit inside a Squier Affinity Stratocaster. I don't want anything sticking out of the tremolo cover (back) plate.
Which options do you know of?

Re: WTB: SSS Pickups for my Squier Stratocaster.

The best sound I've gotten out of a Strat for a good variety of tones are Fender Custom Shop Texas Specials. For a more Jazz type configuration I have a Strat set up with a Kent Armstong (they are very easy to working with, give them the sound you are looking for and they build you a pickup to match. They are good at it too.) custom bridge, Fender Custom Shop Noiseless middle and a SD SH-2 in the neck.
