WTT 12AX7 or 12AY7 tubes - have JJs, looking to try Groove Tube or Mullard

Hey all!

I have a couple extra JJ 12AX7s (ECC83s) and 12AY7s (ECC81)
I'm looking for a darker sounding tube of some kinda. Groove Tubes and Mullards are pretty dark in my experience, but I'd also be down to try something else that fits the bill.

I can’t speak for the GT but the JJ’s are darker than the Mullards, ime.

Interesting... I have all three, but my Mullard and GTs are in use in other amps right now. The JJs are clearly the brightest among them, but I know there’s a lot of relabeling and rebranding among tube manufacturers. Do you know how to tell which su type of JJ you’re talking about?

I thought that JJ was the only Slovakian made tube and as such weren’t rebranded....I may be wrong though.
The Russian and Chinese tubes are definitely rebranded.

I don't know the details of what's made where either

I may not be expressing the sound I'm hearing properly. I don't the JJs have a lot of treble, but I think the quality of the treble is not something I want. I'm looking for something bit smoother / sweeter, with less bite in the treble frequencies__PRESENT
