Ya, its just a little beat up....

Re: Ya, its just a little beat up....

In reality............

It looks to me as it is going to break along the glue joins in parts. IF this is the case then filler wont do ****. You will need to separate them and re- glue, other wise you're wasting your time.

Re: Ya, its just a little beat up....

Well you ain't lying about it being rough

So long as those cracks arnt going to become structural problems, I would leave them and keep it looking rough.

Re: Ya, its just a little beat up....

You'll need a lot of clamps and glue to fix that.

It can be fixed... But is it worth it? Probably not... Makes a great piece of wall art...

Re: Ya, its just a little beat up....

Ya if was something besides strat shape.... A may go for it..... As it is, I don't think it would withstand the abuse. Gonna let it die in peace I think...

Re: Ya, its just a little beat up....

THat thing spent some time underwater-Katrina or the TN flood... Hopefully there still isn't sewage in it... A friend lost all his music gear when his septic backed up into the basement while they were on vacation, all his keyboard stuff was floating in poo for 2+weeks. EEEEEEEW

Ah . . . the infamous Harvey Wallhanger. Which you view while drinking a Harvey Wallbanger.

I don't think it's worth any labor on repair whatsoever. I'd salvage whatever parts you can (if any), then either hang the rest on the wall or burn it.

Put a clock mechanism In it and hang it on the wall.

Otherwise leave it next to your front door to great unwanted intruders,
it's an Ibby, enough sharp bits to do damage

Re: Ya, its just a little beat up....

heck if its just desert dry
soak it in the tub for a few weeks
see if it corrects itself

Re: Ya, its just a little beat up....

I'd pay next to nothing for it, and use it as decoration. The end.

Re: Ya, its just a little beat up....

Well I got it for free....some kid gave it to me, said it was his sisters boyfriends guitar.... It got wet or something.... Ha ha ha I said ya something!

I took the neck up to the woodshop teacher. He's gluing and clamping it. I'm going to sand the hell out of it until its smooth enough to play.

Wire it with cheap stuff, probably clearcoat it....um....to preserve the wood?? Ha ha ha... It's cracked pretty good for sure..... Teach the kids how to wire and solder... Maybe make a class project out of it.

Hang a cheap Floyd in it, see how it sounds/plays.... Then I'll decide if it goes to the class to play, gets hung on the wall, or smashed onstage during the Christmas play...... Could be fun!
