Yamaha Pacifica Guitars

Hi Guys,

I've been trying to get rid of a vox modelling amp AD100VT for ages and I've just had an offer of a straight trade for what looks to be a 1997 Yamaha Pacifica 721, It has The licensed floyd rose with locking nut and a 81/S/S EMG set.It is in good condition

Anyone had any experience with them?
I got the Vox on trade for another amp I was trying to get rid of and thought the Vox would sell quicker, I've already got a Boogie DC-3 and Marshall JVM so the yamaha might be something I might actually use, even as a backup for the other 7 (and growing) guitars :laugh2:.

Is the vox worth more or less or about the same as the guitar?
Is the guitar any way good?

I Was under that impression, Is see most of the newer ones going for between €120-€200 but the very odd one where some a looking for between €250 to €380, I reckon the Amp is worth 150 on a good day but i'd settle for 200 because it's been sitting so long

The Yamaha guitars are worth twice their retail value in quality. I had a Pacifica and it blew my 400 dollar ibanez out of the water. All my friends recommend them all the time.

IMO, unless severely beaten up, the Pacifica is worth more than the amplifier. The straight swap offer is one that I would accept.

Alder body with Maple cap, Maple neck with Rose Wood board, a Floyd, and it's DAMN PRETTY! If it plays well, it's a total SCORE!

712 was high end stuff. They don't make them like that anymore. I used to have one in CAndy Apple. It had Sperzel locking tuners and a Wilkinson term. You could VH on it all day and it stayed in tune. Amazing neck - best neck I ever had on any guitar. It had OEM DiMarzio's in singles and I put a PAF Pro in it. I should have kept that.

Haha,

I'm going up this evening to check it out so if it plays well and frets look ok then i'll be taking it with me, i'll stick up more pics if i bring it home :fingersx:
