Yamaha RGX820Z

I have an opportunity to buy a new Yamaha RGX820Z Blue Burst for a pretty good price. I've done a google search and it looks like these guitars were pretty available in the UK but not so much in the US. It also looks like Yamaha has discontinued them.

They have a SD JB in the bridge and a '59 in the neck. They also have a piezo pickup with two output jacks and the ability to blend between the active and passives.

I played the guitar unplugged and it has a sweet sound and a fast neck.

I'm tempted, but I'm concerned there they may be hidden problems with it since it is no longer available.

Anyone here have experience with these guitars?

I tried one in a music shop in Moscow a couple of years ago and it was really good. If you can get it for a good price, do it!

Re: Yamaha RGX820Z

i bought 1 in the red flame about 4 years ago when MF blew them out for $300.... i sold it about 3 years ago. I thought it was a great playing guitar and I really liked the Piezo and the trem... at the moment I'm having a hard time remembering why I sold it. I think that was when I picked up my PRS hollowbody. I still search ebay pretty regularly looking to pick 1 up again cheap. Enjoy your new guitar!
