I think the JB has the best split and parallel tones of any humbucker I have ever owned. But it doesn't sound like a Strat's bridge pickup. The split or parallel JB might sound better than some generic Strat bridge pickups though. To me, in parallel, it reminds me a bit of a Tele bridge pickup. Nice and strong. Lew

My guitar is not routed for a neck humbucker. But it's routed for... A MIDDLE HUMBUCKER. :smack:

What the guys at Fender where smoking while routing my guitar is beyond me. :dance: Probably because I don't smoke anything stronger than the occasional tobacco, though. And that crap is going away as soon as possible. :13:

Anyways, is it safe in your opinion for me to bring out the Dremel Multitool and widen the routing in strategic spots?

I've changed a 3 single rout to H-S-H before and had few problems. Be careful not to enlarge the pickup cavity too much though. If you do, you could find yourself with a hole that isn't covered up by the pickguard. :laugh2:

BTW, in my main strat right now I'm using the PGn and JBb. Excellent combo if you ask me. I had considered adding a lil 59 in the middle (or an extra antiquity I that I had just layin around), but now I'm thinking the twangbanger does sound like a cool choice.

A guy I know recommended that I get a cheap template-using router, so hopefully I won't run into that problem.

So the Custom Custom will be punchy enough? And how does the Custom Custom handle pinch harmonics? (I use quite a lot of PHs when I'm soloing, so pickups that don't make pinch harmonics hard to achieve are a must to me.)

Thanks, but no thanks neighbour. :13: After getting a pm from Farkus, I've changed my mind. I'm going to slap a JB and some Fender Texas Specials on the strat and build a Warmoth guitar instead. With the PG/TB/JB combo.

As long as the axes go SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAL when I want them to, I'm satisfied, so yeah... I guess it's a good idea.

I always wanted another Floyd Rose equipped guitar as well. (My first guitar was a Squier Stagemaster HSS with a crappy licensed Floyd Rose. I want the real deal now. :dance: )
