Yesterday I met Paul Reed Smith!

He came down to my local music store to demo some of his stuff and answer questions. He's a really good player in his own right and brought his own Private Stock guitar which was absolutely beautiful. He signed my Custom 22 too and seemed like a really approachable kinda guy.

Re: Yesterday I met Paul Reed Smith!

I met him a few years ago too- he was doing a guitar clinic in NY. Couldn't have been a nicer guy, he signed my PRS too, which was really awesome- normally someone has to spent $5,000 on a Private Stock to get Paul to sign it, but if you catch him in person he's more than willing to sign it- even insisted on using his gold pen which he uses on Private Stock guitars

Way cool, I have 2 PRS's and they are by far my favorite guitars these days; phenomenal quality. I would love to meet Paul someday.

That guy really is amazing. He's taken a small repair shop, and turned it into a guitar empire that goes toe to toe with Fender, Gibson, Martin, Peavey etc.

I met him when I was around 18 and Guitar Center was just beginning to stock his first production guitars. And now look at what PRS has become!

Here's how he signed mine- pretty much means I can't sell it!

Re: Yesterday I met Paul Reed Smith!

I first met Paul Smith around 20 years ago, right after I got into this business. I remember it felt like meeting a rock star.

Re: Yesterday I met Paul Reed Smith!

Yeah he was mega cool. He walked into the shop and shook everyones hand and said "if I've done my job properly, then I can pick any PRS off the wall and it will play great". He even grabbed a Tremonti SE and put it up against his very own Private Stock! He kept referring to a PRS having an instant recording tone. I feel I've definitely met a legend.

Re: Yesterday I met Paul Reed Smith!

I met him a few months ago with Brent mason. I showed him my warmoth tele Paul because I stole the idea for the finish from his swamp ash special series. He thought it was great and singed it for me. Very cool.

Re: Yesterday I met Paul Reed Smith!

He was playing through the Tremonti SE for quite a while. He plugged it into a a Fender twin and got some amazing tones from it.

Re: Yesterday I met Paul Reed Smith!

Awesome! I once got to sit down and interview him one-on-one in a room full of PRS guitars, and after the interview was over we just sat around playing guitars and drinking coffee. A real pinch-me moment.

Re: Yesterday I met Paul Reed Smith!

Cheers brother but actually it's purple. Official PRS colour is known as Armando's Amethyst.
