Is this the sign of the times for some of the older players?
Seens Paul Gilberts site awhile back and now Yngwie sets up a pay as you learn type of lesson site?

If people like these style of playing, I think it is cool that people can have access to these guitarists, if they want to take lessons from them.

What do you think, is this the start of a new trend?

Re: Yngwie Lesson site?

Nah. It is just commerce in action.

Thirty years ago, there were artiste instructional videos on tape. Today, the means of delivery is the Internet and the information arrives in smaller chunks in the order of the customers choosing.

It is still a trend, instead of guitar instructional DVD..etc, these guitarist that people like are setting up sites to get sell the lessons straight to the customer.
We will propbably see more guitarist joining in as time goes by.

That seems to pretty much sum it up for me.

Re: Yngwie Lesson site?

i think the paul gilbert lessons will be great. he's a great player but also a great teacher. The Yngwie one, maybe not so much. If his website is anything like his old REH instructional video, save your money because Yngwie is a phenomenal player, but a terrible teacher.

Type in " study [Artist of choice] and you'll get a stack of possibilities.
EG; Study Yngwie malmsteen

That's great but I think it is be better to get the lessons from the actual player.
