you guys were all right about the squier '51.

I went with my dad today to trade in his cheapo neck-heavy epi SG for something more balanced. The dude took us to a stack of '51s, and we were both skeptical. We both took one for a ride and fell in love. Needless to say, we went in there looking for one guitar for him and we both walked out with a '51 in our hands. I'd say it plays just as good as my MIM strat, and the strat has already been modded!

I played one for a few minutes at a shop a couple months back. Not a bad axe and for $99 you can't beat it. Alot of guys mod them and some leave them stock. I was thinking about getting one myself, but I already have a cheapo axe.

it's too bad squier discontinued them. after I buy my epiphone les paul I was going to pick up one of these to mod...hopefully I can still get one a year from now or so.

These are nearer £99.00 in the Uk, but at that price, very tempting indeed.
