You'll Poke Yer Eye Out, Kid

I think there was an 80s Hondo that looked sort of like that. I dig more curves, myself.

Doesn't look weedly weedly friendly on the upper frets but would scare the hell out of anybody just strapping that thing on and hitting a low e with some black metal face paint on...lol. Seriously, cool guitar. Looks like a lot of fun to mess around on.

Looks like one of the cheap chinese guitars all over online now. They've got some really cool shapes but that's about it.

Of COURSE it's "weedly weedly" friendly.

That circled bit? Not part of the guitar.

Where does your thumb go? Depending on how the back is from the 14th fret up could be interesting for certain techniques or people not having Steve Vai sized hands. :)

Back of the neck, like it would normally when playing one of these monstrosities.

Besides, if people are playing like Vai, they're going over the top of the guitar to play those notes anyway. If there's room or not.

This might help.

I think the leaning in and bending your back is a bit much, my arms are long enough to make the access regardless (I'm basically Bucketheads physical twin -hers probably not)-but the rest she speaks to is definitely part of the trick -with rock sized fret reaches my pinky gets very straight working above 15 on an acoustic, resonator, or hollow body electric and become sort of like fretted with a chopstick... :)

Lmao... I've got a vídeo for that somewhere too. That one focuses mainly on posture and barely touches on positioning though.

I'd probably be able to play it no worse than any of my other guitars. But I don't really like how high up the neck the upper bout goes but maybe it helps with neck stability.
