Youngin' attempts to improve playing : D

Re: Youngin' attempts to improve playing : D

hey, TheChris ... i listened to you stuff .. way to go!

you mentioned in the thread title wanting to improve, so i figured you deserve some feedback .. the only piece of advice that comes to mind as the most beneficial to your playing at this time might be to get a metronome or a drum machine or little sequencer program for your computer to help you develop your sense of time ... i listened to the 'jazz-ish' piece where you switched between a cleanish tone and a disorted tone and cycled between a few pretty chords ... i think the thing you would want to do is get your transitions between chords to fall into a comfortable rhythm where you can keep an even tempo ...

and keep it up!! :)

ps - how come when i type or read your username, i always hear StrongBad from homestarrunner saying it? :D kinda like the way he refers to TheCheat as TheCheat

I forgot how much I need a drummer around to keep me in line. I did notice the timing is a bit off and I need to work on making my riffs much tighter, thank you for noticing and criticizing me there, I need that :)

Couldn't listen to u'r tunes cuz I'm on a 'puter without a realplayer.
But I just wanted to tell u to be wary of having the mindset of relying on a drummer to play with good time. All musicians should strive (and practice)to play with "good time". You will be a better, more aware player the more u'r time feel matures.
