Your amp wish list?

Re: Your amp wish list?

It probably wouldn't be terribly difficult or expensive to mod a JMP/JCM 2203 or 2204 to sound like that. I've always thought that the Ecstasy blue channel was essentially an idealized JCM800.

I'm told the Helios is more or less that. Last time I was at NAMM so many people were playing the Helios I couldn't even get close to one. Luckily my a buddy just picked up the 50w version and he likes it a lot.

Re: Your amp wish list?

I can now add an Orange CS-50 to the mix...got an OR15 recently, and love it. My GAS for Orange amps is strong.

Re: Your amp wish list?

Fender blues jnr. Played a tweed covered one in a shop recently. I should have just bought it, it sounded awesome!

Just a quick note...the tweed blues jr usually has a Jensen speaker and is NOT the exact same tone stack as the tolex covered Blues Jr III.
Go back and get the tweed...

Re: Your amp wish list?

Not a many amps kind of guy...Lately been more gasoholic...just ordered a Celestion Cream to put into a solid state Tech 21 Power Engine...works great with a Flyrig based pedalboard.
Will get a Fender Hot Rod DeVille III 4x10 soon but love the original Super Reverb more.
Not hankering after anything Marshally or Rectifriery but would love almost any Carr amp with 6L6s...(have only heard a 60 watt something with Weber alnico twin cab...probably the nicest non 4x10 sound I ever heard.)

Milk Man Half and Half
Milk Man Creamer
Milk Man DairyAire
Fender 6G3 Brown Deluxe
Fender 5e3 Tweed Deluxe.

Re: Your amp wish list?

I almost pulled the trigger on a used one for a good price, and regret not doing it. Plus it's not another Marshall.

Re: Your amp wish list?

I have everything I've ever needed.

Maybe a psy amp can come. You know, the thing that can turn your thougths into physical existence such as zap rays, moving stuff, animating beings etc etc, that sort of jedi stuff. Just for fun.

Re: Your amp wish list?

Bogner Helios
Marshall 4x12AHW custom shop white levant tolex cab loaded with 75W creambacks. I wonder if they can provide these speakers. I have a long history, a thing, with white Marshalls.

The cab isn't necessarily for the Helios only. I'd use it with my other heads too.

Re: Your amp wish list?

As much as I would absolutely love to re-acquire a late 70’s JMP 2204 as well as a VTM 60, my bases are covered with what I’ve got now...JCM 2000 DSL100 and modded Windsor (head, not combo).

Maybe I’ll eventually do it anyway.

Re: Your amp wish list?

I want a great 50W channel switcher. Any of the following would work:

Splawn Quickrod
Bogner Extacy
Friedman or similar Marshall clone

There are some more that I can't recall right now, but the Splawn by far tops the list. I used to live about an hour from Scotts shop and miss being so close.

I'd also buy another JCM 2205 for the right price. I sorely miss the custom circuit Jeff Seal built for my original 2205. Selling that was my 2nd biggest gear mistake and my only remaining gear regret.

Re: Your amp wish list?

Well I recently got one of my wish list amps done with my JTM45RI to '68 50W Plexi build/mod efforts:

https://forum.seymourduncan.com/showthread.php?325076-NAD-1968-50-Watt-Plexi-(clip)

Would like to build a 2203, a 1959 (not sure late 60's again or early 70's circuit) and an 18 watter.

Also build a Vox AC30, HiWatt DR103.

And a tweed Deluxe.

But honestly, BIAS VST gets me 95% of the way there.

I have everything I've ever needed.

In my 20 years of playing, that's the 1st time I've ever heard that. :biglaugh: You;re either content or enlightened!

I'll add a Mesa Rectoverb 25 to the list - head or combo, I think I'd like an amp like that for a variety of applications.
