Re: Your Favorite DiMarzios for a Fat, Crunchy, Modern Sounding Bridge
I also say the Tone Zone. although it is a little muddy on the clean channel, on high gain is where this pup excels. it is a really good shred pickup... the notes ring clearly and does not run together, especially when tapping. very punchy and also very chunky on rhythm. very tight and aggressive. it has a top end sizzle that i love. the harmonics are very good, it has an "airy" vibe to it. it matches very well with the PAF Pro...a combination favored by Paul Gilbert. compared to the JB, it has more chunk, more muscle, more crunch, and less harmonics. the TZ and the JB are my two most favourite bridge pups by far.
