I have everything from an old Peavey, to Whirlwind, to Spectraflex, and George L's. I also have a few Livewires that have served me well.

I think the George L's sound the best. I noticed this when I rewired my rack several years ago. I forget what brand I had in it before, but when I switched them out it was like night and day.

I don't notice any big differences with cables other than subtle things here and there. I think high end cables are more important in the studio. Live, anything decent and durable works. In fact, I find really high end cable can be sterile.

I agree with Jackson distortion. I get whatever seems decent and durable at the music store. Done. :-)

For patch cable kits, I think the Bill Lawrence can't be beat! If you just need some 6" patch cords, I really like the Dimarzios.
