Do you ever look at your gear & think, "When did I accumulate all of this???"

I made a post just a few minutes ago & saw the list of gear that I have......GOD D@MN, I HAVE SOME NICE SH!T !!! :laugh2:

I showed up here one day with an Epiphone Les Paul Custom & a TECH21 Trademark 60..................................................... :22:



:wrf: I guess I need to sit down & learn how to play some of this stuff, huh???? :burnout:

Well, I don't anymore. But about 8 years ago I had that revelation. Had 19 electric, and 3 acoustic guitars, 4 amps + cabinets, a bass + amp, a rack full of stuff.
Saw the light after a while, though, and got rid of most of it. Best thing I ever did. Got a much better sound an all.

But yeah, it keeps coming in again!

I came here with an Epi Les Paul and a 5 year old Crate 20w practice amp. Some of you guys owe me a bunch of $$. Like I need all this stuff to play Smoke On The Water.

I have that thought alot! Truth is, I decided to clear a bunch of stuff right before I started comming here...I told myself that I was gonna move all the stuff that saw very little use, and all the low end stuff that had just gathered up. I was able to do that, but this place is like a big 'ol bowl of beans...beans is bad for GAS! It's all good, I used to think that there was no need in having a ton of gear unless you were a pro, but I enjoy it, and it's fun...it's kind of like baseball cards..collect them all!

I used to think that there was no need in having a ton of gear unless you were a pro, but I enjoy it, and it's fun...it's kind of like baseball cards..collect them all!

You're right...it is fun, I'm not going into major debt, I'm not out drinking every night, I'm not doing drugs.....

One day, I'll settle on 1 or 2 things, but by that time, I'll be able to let the kids learn on quality stuff, which in turn will maybe make them wanna play...and get better....and make a ton of dough....and let Daddy retire!!!!! :laugh2:

The funny thing is I sold off a bunch of stuff that I wasn't using in order to buy the Splawn Quick Rod that I just sold so I can buy the Matchless that should be here tomorrow!!!!

Well, I guess I can atleast say I'm upgrading......maybe Jonesy has rubbed off on me!!!! Keeping up with the Jonesers is a full contact sport!!! :laugh2:

I can promise you that you do not own enough padding and safety equipment to keep up with Joe.

i am right there with you all, when i got here i had a couple guitars, only one of which is still around. i have gone through three different amps, each getting better and i have now gone to custom made guitars. this is getting out of hand, but i don't want to stop anytime soon.

I came here with a 80's Epi LP and Fender MIM Strat through a 15w Crate SS amp

One thing I've learned is that I don't need lots of guitars or amps. I've sold and upgraded my gear to the point where I have one amp I use, two sweet electrics and a good acoustic.

Since I got a new amp (Marshall JTM30), pedal(Marshall Jackhammer) new pickup obviously(Custom) and I'm planning on getting an American Standard Strat and building a guitar over the summer.
