i dont like using active circuitry as i dont like having a battery in my guitar, but if theres no other way of getting the circuit mod/booster im after I'll use some active circuitry (not pickups though)

Passives for me, to my ears they sound more dynamic, even though I've only played 2 guitars with actives (Jackson DK-1 and Charvel Fusion, used an EMG 81 on both)

I have owned many of both, and I will say passives are my favorite.

I had some hybrid active/passive pickups in my Yamaha Image Custom. Now that’s what I would call a compromised pickup! Did I replace the mutant Hybrids with passive or active pickups? Being a SDF member should make that rather clear…

I haven't really ever used active pickups. Passive pickups fit my style of playing better.

My passive bass tonally beats the crap out of active. Getting rid of 9V system in my active bass.
