Your guitar population - personal attachment, cool stuff, work stuff?

Re: Your guitar population - personal attachment, cool stuff, work stuff?

Yeah the case queens can probably go.

I really only play one guitar for just about everything, but I have other guitars that I will never sell, such as my pre-production Charvel that I saved up for and bought when I was a teenager and gigged with for years.

I don't "need" a Gibson type but I think its good to have at least one.. or two....besides an H/H tele.

I've got one traditional tele but that and the hard tail strats are case queens. I love my H/H mahogony tele that I scratch built.

I have a super nice superstrat that I hardly play, but it's job is to stand in for my #1 HSS strat when all noiseless pickups and/or Floyd like trem operations are needed (its got a Wilk).

I want a Flying V just to have one too. And I want a Holdsworth Charvel.

The day one becomes a "case queen" it's free to find a new home in my book, unless there is very serious sentimental value, or the guitar itself has very little value.

To be fair, my collection of vintage MIJ Les Pauls was never intended as a collection. It was more of an effort to find the best by flipping them, except that the second half of the flip got stuck :). My main Burny Super Grade plain top is doing the LP thing. The only reason to have another one would be to keep different pickups ready. I just got a vintage double cream DD, so there.

The Hamer Sunburst has beaten up paint which makes the price it brings painful, but maybe I should just take whatever hit I have to take eventually.

Half of my electrics I assembled myself so there is attachment there (3 of them). The other 3 also have attachment. A vintage Kramer Baretta with a NYC graphic, Focus 2000 that was a gift from my wife and the EchoTone that I got for a stupid cheap price. It was pretty much a gift too because I used GC gift cards to buy it. I don't think I could let any of them go.
