Your Main Axe (Include Pics!!)

Re: Your Main Axe (Include Pics!!)

I hate to say it, but this thread is sort upstaging the Constest thread with the amazing guitars being posted. TLD's Ibby has some serious Mojo going on.

OP here, I just wanted to see what everyone here was using as their number 1 and man SD forum folks have damn good taste!

Late on posting, but here's mine. She's on the workbench as we speak.lp.jpg

Re: Your Main Axe (Include Pics!!)

Oh, we'll be seeing a LOT OF THESE IN SOME OF THE UPCOMING CATEGORIES. ESPECIALLY SOME SUPER STRAT/TELE'S and Les PAuls...

Re: Your Main Axe (Include Pics!!)

I swear, that is one of the lovliest Pauls I think I may have ever seen. Bad deicison to put the Bigsby on IMO, but hey, yuo can always take it off ( too bad about the holes).

The Bigsby is actually just freshly off. Used it for a series of session gigs, but going back to the original configuration. No holes left behind, as I've been using a vibramate. Easy on ; easy off, no harm done.

Re: Your Main Axe (Include Pics!!)

Don't know if I'm cheating the answer, but I have 3; a main one for recording, a main one for live shows, and my overall lifelong main guitar is the Les Paul Standard, the first 'real' guitar I ever bought (took me 3 years to pay it off, at the time).

No recent pics, but I play this guitar the most.

Have since changed the pups to PAT Distortion and Humbucker from hell in the neck and added another volume knob.

Re: Your Main Axe (Include Pics!!)

What HB-sized P-90 is in the neck slot?

Looks a lot like the Dream 90 in my Melody Maker. Though I realize it's probably not :naughty:

It's from a relatively recent English company called Oil City Pickups. They're some of the best deals around on really great handwound pickups. Check'em out. :)

OK, hell hath frozen over, Izzo took some pics.

Drop A tuning, super wacky Gibson hybrids and an Ant I (soon to be replaced with SSL-4), all upgraded electronics.

SG Special with lots of mods, cream parts match better in person, this looks weird:

Drop C tuning, Invader/Custom hybrid, double screw Screamin' Demon, 500K pots, Schallers, TP-6, Tonepros bridge, bone nut, lightning bolt strap motherlovers!

$75 Eclipse. I think I coulda won the LP copies with this one, amirite?
Actually, I like this guitar so much I had a total fret dress done and put in a bone nut, spent more on it than it's worth just doing that, but I've owned real ESP's, and this ugly bastard is on par with them.

D standard tuning, EMG's. It's an early MIK version, has an actual mahogany neck, Tonepros bridge/TP, Sperzels, upgraded electronics, bone nut, Depeche Mode (or Death Metal, if you prefer) sticker, derp.

I've got no less than six guitars apart that I've been dragging my feet on, including my Kelly XLR and the Dinky, which are probably my real #1 & #2, but I'm not posting pics of **** that isn't put together.

BloodRose. Killer Charvels, I've got a thing for Strathead Charvels and the red one kills me.

Now that I've got a few minutes and access to my photobucket account here are both of the Suhr T's.

The Whole Red Drip.

Here are the red drips specs. The bridge bucker has been swapped for a DSH+ now, the Aldrich was too bright.

This is the number one in the studio and when I don't want a floyd. It also has a custom preamp built by John Suhr. It has a bypass switch and a midboost knob, with the knob off it is a unity gain buffer, roll it on and it adds thickness and a bit of gain. John's a genius and the preamp is my secret weapon.

Singlies...

Humbuggies

Lounging in the garden with their homebuilt chum (pre Antiquity's in the Legacy)

Re: Your Main Axe (Include Pics!!)

The Fret King is a cool looking guitar. I had a firebird and the lip screwed me up when I was picking. I'll bet that contour would fix that.
