Your reccomendations on how I might fill a 6-way rotary?

Well, I'm not entirely sure this is the route I'll be going, but it *is* tempting, since I'm something of a versatility whore...but I'm considering putting a 6-way rotary dial in place of my Fake Les Paul's 3-way toggle. How might I fill those 6 slots?

This is with a Distortion in the neck and a Custom in the bridge, btw.

Here's my first impulse:

1-Neck HB
2- Neck HB + Bridge HB
3-Bridge HB
4- Neck HB, coils in parallel
5- outside coils of both HBs, in parallel
6- Bridge HB, coils in parallel

Of course, I could go with more normal coil cplitting options in one or all of those last three slots, but this seems an interesting option.

A lot is going to depend on how many different "wafers" your switch has. Its going to take two wafers, just to perform positions 1,2, and 3. You'ld need at least two more wafers to perform 4, 5, and 6, and even then I'm not sure you could do it.

Remember, just because a switch has 6 positions, doesn't mean you can do anything, in those positions. Some of those combinations you mention, require several simultaneous wire movements, ( re-connections).

Can you post a pic of the switch? ;)

Woops. Very sorry for not posting this in the guitar forum. My mistake. Feel free to move it, mods.

As for your questions Artie, I have no idea. I'd like to be a DIY kind of guy, but I've got a really good tech, which makes me lazy... I didn't have a particualr switch picked out, but had seen 6-ways here and there and was thinking over the possibilties.

There is a guy who sells homemade Varitone switches on Ebay every week, he's accually a couple of towns over from me. They are $40, pretty cheap for the versatility and tone shaping they give you. It's probably not what you're looking for, but I thought i'd throw it out there. I bought a number plate for mine from him for $8. The wiring on my Blueshawk's Varitone looks pretty intimidating, I don't know if I'd want to tango with it.
