showMaster

I just bought a squire showmaster HH and I'm going to change both pickups,, but I got confused between choosing duncan distorsion and duncan custom for the bridge,, but I still don't have idea what should I put for the neck,, I mostly play the lead part on the bridge pup, but sometimes on the neck too,, I'm looking for bridge pup that can gives me great deep thick distorsion and sustain, but also can gives me great clean sound aswell,, for the neck pups I'm looking for more soft,, well in other ways,, I'm looking for a versatile bridge and neck pickups,,,
the body is basswood and the neck is maple, and also equipped with flyod rose tremolo,, is that mean I have to go with the TB or the SH??
can anyone help me choose,,,
thanks a lot,,,

Re: your recommendation

I'd go with a Trembucker spaced pickup for the bridge position and a standard spaced 59N for the neck. The Custom and Distortion would be fine choices for the bridge pickup...the Custom is definately a more popular choice. Lew

Re: your recommendation

ok maybe I'll go with custom,, do you think custom is a versatile pickups? how bout the neck pups? do you think jazz on the neck pup can match with custom? thanks,,,

Re: your recommendation

Custom is pretty versatile, but I would choose the JB over the Custom, but that's me...
The jazz would be a good match for the custom, also if you went for the JB the jazz would be a good match.... The jazz is a great neck humbcuker.

I was thinking about getting a squire showmaster HH myself and planned on putting in JB and Jazz humbuckers, so there's my reccomendation.

Re: your recommendation

The Custom has a cleaner clean than the Distortion, but neither has all that good of a traditional clean. I've used the Distortion for a long time, but only recently got a Custom. However, I could have either one and be perfectly happy. Same with the JB and the Invader. All sound different, but are equally workable :D

As far as the neck pup, I'm fond of a Gibson 496R. The Duncan Jazz is the shiz-nit, too.

Re: your recommendation

I've already used jb on my fender,, and it sounds perfectly,, I loved it,, so for the showmaster I decided to try other duncan pickups,, and I think I'll go with custom (bridge) and jazz (neck),, thanks for your help guys,,,
