The Fuzz Factory is the best seller...but what are the other Z-Vex models that you guys have tried and liked alot? Thanks! Lew

Re: Z-Vex Effects....what's your favorite?

I really like the Super Hard-on and the Seek wah personally, along with the fuzz factoy(most of all)

EDIT: What were the new effects they were supposed to debut at NAMM?

Re: Z-Vex Effects....what's your favorite?

Super Hard On and Super Duper 2 in 1 are great the Seek wah, Ooh wah and seek trem are amazingly cool if you can figure out where to make good use of them. The Fuzz Factory AND the Fuzz probe a great units.

Lew,

Any info on the new ones since you are now a dealer?

Ouch! I wasn't gonna mention that...:laugh2:

But now that the cat is out of the bag, I'm gathering info for my opening order. I have to order nine or so pedals and they all have to be differant pedals.

But I need a little help from you guys in making the selection.

Re: Z-Vex Effects....what's your favorite?

Got some info!

The Tremorama is like a Seek trem but with a "random" setting like the Ooh wah has...the Ring Tone plays a pre recorded melody like while ring modulating it agianst what you are playing and for the Box of Rock is has a level, drive and tone control with 2 switches...sounds like an OD of somekind but it is a ZVEX so it'll be wild as hell!

Re: Z-Vex Effects....what's your favorite?

Far as I know, you are dead on about the Tremorama and the Ring tone. And the "Box of Rock" is apparently a 2 channel distortion box. (Drive and boost I think)

Re: Z-Vex Effects....what's your favorite?

It looks like the Box of rock is gonna be a Vexter like the cheeper FF...no handpainted graphics but like I said...it's a ZVEX...it's gonna be bad ass!

Re: Z-Vex Effects....what's your favorite?

They told me at the NAMM show that they have a new artist doing the graphics, BTW, and that the hand painted versions will be available shortly.

Looked great to me...slightly differant than the old ones but in very much the same style.

I've been listening to the demo DVD in my computor but the sound quality is so mediocre on my computor that I can't can't really get a good read. I need better speakers!

Really though, I'm going to trust you guys, especially you Christian, on this. I'm a guitar + cord + amp kinda guy and I don't really have much of a handle on effects pedals.

I had a blast with the Fuzz Factory though!

ive tried the mammoth and really liked it. i think it was made for bass but i used it as an overdrive on two gigs and i thought it sounded great. it can make some very odd noises but has a very thick sound. when i was soloing low on the neck i rattled a drink off my amp.
i also like the super duper, a nice boost pedal with LOADS of gain available. one of the channels has a master volume but other than that its like 2 sho in a box

Thanks Jeremy! I'm leaning towards the Super Duper too...and the Super Hard On. The Super Duper is kind of like two Super Hard On's in one box...as you mentioned. The Seek Wah and OOh Wah sounded pretty cool to me at NAMM. I wish the Johnny Octave went down an octave instead of up an octave...or am I wrong about that? Obviously I'm really in a learning stage about this stuff and you guys already know alot more about the line than I do! Lew

Re: Z-Vex Effects....what's your favorite?

i think the johnny is like an octiva that puts an octave up with a weird ring modulation thing going on? cool for soloing above the 12th fret but less effective low on the neck

That was my impression too. And it makes some very wild tones when you play or bend two notes at once...the ring modulation you alluded to.

Re: Z-Vex Effects....what's your favorite?

I've tried the Seek Wah II, Fuzz Factory, SHO, and own a Super Duper.

All 4 pedals sounded great to me. I have most use for the Super Duper (hence I bought that 1) but I totally plan on buying a Fuzz Factory in the future when funds allow :)

Re: Z-Vex Effects....what's your favorite?

The studio I work at has ALL of the zvex stuff, except for the new pedals and stereo amp of course. They're all pretty awesome, and Zack is a cool dude. My favorite is probably the super duper..the fuzz is good too, for sure. The nanoamp is totally badass..I love the tone it gets. Some of the seek wah sorts of effects would be a bit fussy on stage, I think, but they're great colors in the studio.

Re: Z-Vex Effects....what's your favorite?

am i the only one that tried the mammoth? from my short experience with it i was very impressed. kinda like a fuzz but with less bite and more ass

Re: Z-Vex Effects....what's your favorite?

My favorites are the Probe pedals, with the theramin copper plate on top. Those are among the funnest pedals I've ever played with. Get 1 of each with your order. You may not want to sell them!

Re: Z-Vex Effects....what's your favorite?

i have the SHO, fuzz factory and the octane III. I love them all. I wanna try the johny octave and the new trem pedal sounds cool

Re: Z-Vex Effects....what's your favorite?

The Whoolly Mammoth is great for bass. Big and heavy.
I also really like the Nano amp. It's only 1 watt (and just 0,5 on the other channel) and the internal plastic speaker thoroughly sucks (Zachary Vex heartily admits that) but it kicks some serious a$$ when you hook it up to a 4x12.
