Installed a Zakk 81/85 EMG set in my 90's Fujigen Orville LPC with long tenon.

Much heavier sounding, waiting for my wife to get up so i can crank it .....:usa2:

And you get a Zakk Wylde pick. Or at least you did some time ago when I bought mine.

Re: Zakk EMG 81/85 set

If a guitar is naturally low-end tight with treble bite I put the 85 at the bridge.
With an LP or mostly mahogany guitar I usually like the 81 better.

An LP with a maple cap and maple neck greatly benefits from and 85 in the bridge.

I liked the 85 in the bridge better in my Nick Catanese too. I still like the 81, though.

Re: Zakk EMG 81/85 set

I like the 81 thats in the Bridge, but so far i liked my SD 59' in the neck better than the 85.

The 85 sounds best with the tone knob rolled all the way off.

FWIW the Duncan SH-5 & 59 set i had in before can run with the best of them. I still have that combo in 2 other guitars.

Yeah I'm sure that's right. The only USA Gibson I've ever had was a Studio with no cap, in which I preferred the 81 for the slice.

I got a real Zakk pick from the Generation Axe your. Much thinner than I would have thought.
Two actually, and a Nuno pick and 2 Yngwie picks.
