Idk what Chapman guitars you have been playing, but every single one Ive played has been awesome for the price. He still polls the fans to see what THEY want on the next model (He just did this for the new USA Cap 10 model). He makes what the fans want, so its not him separating himself because he lets us decide.

Its not about if they are playable or not... But for much less than $550 I can find guitars that are just as good. His guitars are minimaly appointed and designed for one type of player... Shredders... Not everyone like a thin neck. Fender Classic Vibe and Vintage Modified are just as good, so are several Epiphones. All can be found for much less. If his price is based upon using Seymour Duncan pickups, I still don't agree with them. Those guitars aren't worth the price. Its not about quality, its about what you are really getting for you money.

Look- interest in Zack has probably diminished since he's been away from Ozzy, and therefore interest in his Gibsons and Marshalls has dried up, probably leading both companies to cut his endorsement deal since his products weren't selling enough. Don't know if his endorsement deal is up with either. Also Zack had an incident with having a business relationship with a motorcycle company 357 Customs years back that left a sour taste in fans mouths- if you bought one of their die cast motorcycles you were guaranteed an Epiphone Les Paul Zack Wylde guitar. So fans ordered the die cast replicas, but were left hanging with the guitars, no one received their guitars, and there was some silent lawsuit about it- and fans were left hanging. So I'd be weary of buying anything from a startup company that Zack is involved with

Now that's interesting....

I did a tiny bit of research... It wasn't Zakk that did the promotion, but his webmaster who was also working for 357 Customs.... In this blog, the webmaster, Chad, mentioned he made the mistake of assuming the promotional deal was authorized by Zakk and posted it on Zakk's website.

As it appears, it really wasn't his fault...

Minimally appointed? Chapman uses quality materials and bases his manufacturing in the same factory that Schecter and PRS use to make their non-USA models. The guitars come standard with a Tusq nut and Grover tuners. The bridges are tonepros, the last I checked. About the only thing they skimped out on was the pickups, and the newer ones they come with are actually pretty decent. But, that was the point; to have a qualilty made guitar to use as a canvas. Rob even said so himself. So, what you're getting for your money is a guitar with quality on par with PRS's SE line (which are amazing), but at about a hundred bucks cheaper new, depending on model.

Now, the sigs are another story because I haven't tried them, but I'm sure they're up to par with the standard offerings. Probably better in some regards.

Forgive me, but it seems like you're really grasping for reasons to not like chapman guitars. They're average quality is WAY above any epiphone gibson copy. And they offer varying neck profiles.

They are all thin C profiles.... What more can you say? I disagree with better than any Epiphone. I'll take a Les Paul Traditional Pro over a Chapman guitar.

No binding, no traditional fretboard inlays, no 50's or V' neck profiles... No vintage output... Where is the variety? All shred guitars....

Now, let me put this out there. I really wanted to like a Chapman guitar. I'm a fan of teles and I also thought his Ghost Fret was really cool too. But his style of play is more shred like than digging in with more classic rock and blues (you have to really go deep in the Anderton videos archieves to find his "I'm a blues-rock guitarist', but trust me he claims it at one point in time).

Now the Capt. is a fun player to watch and listen to. Whoever is teaching him is doing a great job. His soloing has improved video after video. I watch Anderton videos to see him play now.

So you aren't a shredder, but a blues player (lucky guess given your username). So a guitar must suck if it doesn't cater to your completely different style of playing? Is there a need to rain on people's parade if they like their guitars - guitars which are marketed towards their wants and needs, not yours? Just let people be. Whatever happened to just accepting something as different rather than inferior?

Detroit, all you seem to be doing is making more of an ass of yourself every time you open your mouth.

There are plenty of guitars that don't suit people's tastes, Chappers guitars don't suit me either but thats hardly the point. To call them mediocre and poorly appointed is plain ignorant, and confuses personal opinion with fact. We already have one person here that serially does that, so another is certainly not needed in the slightest.

Every Gibson guitar has 23 3/4 scale length and 12" radii too while I prefer 25 1/2 but I'm not going to dog Gibson for not meeting my default tastes. People CAN play blues on flat and thinner c shaped neck you know. You are also aware they have a straight up telecaster too right? Those aren't hot pickups. Lil 59 isn't really hot either and they use that. What kind of a shred guitar doesn't have a floyd but has a tele shaped headstock? They don't have a single floyd model I believe. I mean if you HAVE to dig so far back into obscurity to find that thing where he says he's a blues rock guy, then that means he's not shouting it from the rooftops while in his drop c prog hard rock band. Seems like they are trivial reasons to say such strong words. Chapman guitars are quite versatile.

I did see two Floyd equipped models in the standard series. One of their single cuts comes with the Sh1 set, so that covers the low output pickups, several others use Seymour Duncan pickups. I'm not sold on the reverse tele style headstock but other than that they seem alright. Never seen a 13 3/4 radius board before.

This is what I really agree with, if you absolutely cannot bring yourself to play blues on a certain guitar, it probably isn't the guitar. You can make any guitar work for any genre if you really want to, but like always, it comes down to personal taste, and nothing more.

Back to Mr. Zakk "Pinch Harmonic" Wylde, I would have to hold one to see how I feel. I think he's trying to go the route of EVH, but if he plans on making the money EVH does, he's gonna need to get some kind of deal with another company. We'll see how this turns out.

Never said that I shred like Satch or EVH... I said I was a fan of their music, didn't say I play their songs. I appreciate several styles of music, but I don't identify myself with them. I play blues and sometimes blues-rock like ZZ Top... Yes, there really is a difference. Also like Gary Moore and Joe Bonamassa. While I'm at it, might as well say I like country music and think Brad Paisley is a monster-player. Keith Urban is pretty damn good too. But do I play their genres? No, but I'm a fan.

Blues was something later in life for me. I grew up with my parents listening to VH, AC/DC, ZZ TOP, Ted Nug., Led Zep, Foghat, etc... Some of those bands I dabble in their songs. But what bands have I played in? What is my go-to music I play on a stage? BLUES, fellas, BLUES. I'm heading to Chicago in March. Guess what I'm playing? BLUES. So do identify my screen name with my style of play? Yes. I'm a blues and blues-rock guitarist. I love listening to other styles. But I'm a blues guitarist. But do you listen to music you don't play?

Hell fellas, you've got your panties in a bunch over who I believe is a British guitarist that is famous for his YouTube antics, not his music. I believe his guitars are not worth the price his asking for, but are the junk? Absolutely not. Is he talented, without a doubt. So let's leave it as is here and now. No need to continue a hate rave, because words are difficult to see the reading in between the lines here. Its just an opinion, not a fact or persecution.

Back to the point of the whole thread. Mr. Wylde is going to make his own guitars. Excellent. Just hope he finds distributer for them like FMIC.

Tomorrow they plan to unveil the full lineup. From what I've seen so far, I think it'll be more humorous than anything. Time will tell...
