  • What do?

So I don't quite know how, but one of the feet on the bottom of my bassman cab broke off, with more than half of the screw still buried in the cabinet. Pisses me the **** off.

I have little woodworking experience. What do I want to do here?

some people will tell you easy out. ive never had any luck with em,
Youll have to drill it out and use a dowel to fill the hole. Or you could also use the smallest hole saw, and get a bigegr dowel.

      These

Or at least ones that you like the size of. Just drill a few holes and screw them on.

You know, I've wanted to put wheels on it for a really long time, considering how ****ing heavy it is. Maybe this is a sign.

If I do that though, I've got nothing to hold the corner of the cabinet on. I don't want to superglue it - any suggestions?

Any chance of a picture or two so we can understand the problem better?

                Re: What do?

Whilst I can't get an idea of the relative size of the cabinet to the bit of it you have shown, my initial thinking would be to place the castor base plate at 45 degrees to the cabinet corner itself. The idea being that you wouldn't need to disturb the existing feet of corner fixtures. The only thing you'd need to be very careful about, would be on whether that put the castor pivot point to far in towards the centre of the cabinet and therefore made it unstable. On that point, the larger the castor wheel, the larger the base plate will be, and hence the further toward the centre of the cabinet the pivot point would end up being.

The cabinet is 102cm tall by 76cm wide.

                    Re: What do?

Yeah, I realize that I'd have to be pretty careful with the placement of the casters should I decide to go for them. However, I'm still left with the same problem - what do I do about the corner?

Does the screw go all the way through into the cabinet or does it end in the wood itself?

I dunno, can't you just clamp on to the broken screw with some pliers and power it out? Then just go get another screw that'll work and blamo.

Or wait, is the screw not reachable? Like it broke off in the hole?

Here. Get something like this in a small diameter and either boar it all out and refill with a dowel or boar until you can get a good grip on the ****er.
