buzzing when i touch metal

if you have a multimeter
plug your guitar cable into the guitar
take the far end of the cable loose from the amp
turn your volume all the way up
the tip of the guitar cable should be attached to the hot leg of the volume pot
the sleeve ( the section just below the black ring) should be connected to ground
test tip to sleeve
this should read something like the resistance of the pickup selected
test tip to the bridge of the guitar
this again should read the resistance of the pickup selected
test sleeve to guitar bridge
this should read 0.0 or very very little resistance
as these two should be directly connected
again please post the results of the tests
this will enlighten us to the condition of the wiring
