That's exactly the way I feel about the Heritage guitars I've played: everyone of them felt real stiff to me. I wanted to like them, but I didn't.

It's the same bunch of drunks from Michigan that built Les Pauls with volute and pancake bodies.

It's all down to personal choice... similar to the Fender v G&L debate. I have tried so hard to get a Fender Strat that I can keep and had a few top of the line models, just couldn't get on with them. Got my first G&L and never looked back... great build, fit and finish and quality materials but I'd still prefer the Fender headstock! As long as you are sure when you pick it up that it feels right and fits, get it. You have to live with it, not us.

What's not to love? I can live with the headstock.
And I could live with the resale value. I'd buy it to play it, and if it made my music sound better, I'd consider it money well spent.

I remember seeing one like this many years ago with the pickguard carved out of the same wood as the body. Kinda defeats the purpose of a pickguard, but it looked so fine.
I haven't seen a new one in a shop in quite a few years. I think no one in my area carries them anymore.

I haven't played one, but I find the "butt-ugly" headstock comments hilarious. I think what you are really trying to say is "the headstock looks different from a Gibson". Overall, they aren't that much different:

They are all similar. The Heritage is a little skinnier than Gibson with a point. The Hamer has a less-defined open page. But, I mean, good Lord, what do you want them to do?

Now, THIS is an ugly headstock:

Ha, not blind. I can see the differences, but they are more alike than different when you think about the various types of headstocks out there.

Heh, I have neither love nor hate for Gibson headstocks but the Heritage one is too thin for my tastes. The Hamer looks totally fine to me.

                    That Yamaha one though, SHEESH!!!

Re: Heritage Guitars - What's Your Opinion

I had one for a few months that was a LP Goldtop version. I liked it fine but sold it to fund the purchase of a Gibson Goldtop.

Why? It came down to the neck profile which actually reminded me of the 1981 LP I used to own. I liked it OK but loved the Gibson neck.

Now if I didn't have the Gibsons I would like the Heritage just fine. It's a well made guitar and certainlhy much better than the newer low end stuff of Gibsons that I've tested out recently.

TLD, you have the worst taste in guitar design/guitar colours, and for that, you should be shot through the head with a tank cannon.

                                but I still wuvs you
