I don’t play modern metal, but the Wampler Dracarus sounds pretty great into a clean amp.
    Oh no.....

Killer pedal–definitely would suggest the Top Boost! Great for to Rhythm to Lead, IMO.

          Biyang Metal End.

A lot of you guys probably have'nt heard of them, but Demilich are a pretty legendary band in death metal circles. We played at a local club gig with them when they came over a couple of years ago soon after their "reunion" & Antti Boman's (vocalist/guitarist) Empress Heavy died on stage during their soundcheck.

He ended up borrowing my Metal End pedal (picked it over a ton of other pedals he was offered) which I carry around as back-up & he was super impressed with it after the gig. Said it did whatever his Empress pedal did & more ...could'nt believe the price either

Anyway ..that's the one I'd get. (assuming the guy has one stocked in his shop.. 'cuz I bought mine for $55 shipped from Guangzhou )

          ^^ That's my pedal ..& yes I'm a huge Demilich fanboy

Hard Rock to Heavy Metal? Suhr Riot

Classic Hard Rock/Metal? Catalinbread Dirty Little Secret (Mk anything, II preferred)

Get-Your-Motor-Runnin, get the Led out on the Sabbath, proto metal? Ibanez DS-9 Mod

I actually liek the Metal Muff tone . . . but think it is a better Classic Rock pedal at 2/5ths gain, than a flat out modern metal pedal.

I will also look into the DS-9, and the Dirty Little Secret.

I would do what I did with my Quad in the 80's. A MXR D+ pegged kicking the crap out of the Fender's preamp.

I'm surprised nobody has suggested the wampler triple wreck yet. Never tried one myself but would like to.
