It just appears silver from the flash. It's pretty much the same color black as the bobbin.

Okay, that makes sense ...

It took me some searching and finally somone on this forum steered me to the 3M #11 cloth tape, maybe some day I will find out what kind of tape this is too.

Musta been Stratdeluxer ... I just use black electrical tape myself, but it doesn't look as good ... but whatever works.(Although you can use that coloured electrical tape as well).

Yeah sometime ago when we were doing the hybrids the suggestion came from BachtoRock if I remember right. I have one in my drawer now. What do you wanna know about the tape?
