Single coil size humbuckers with screw poles are more gritty than both stax and rails. I think they're the most suited to rock out of the single coil form factor. The neck version in the neck and middle slot will balance with your JB in the bridge.

Thanks for the suggestions, the neck RD pickup is 11.29k and the middle RD is 11.7k so it seems that the middle pickup is hotter than the Neck, right?
If I consider to change the JB as well for another with similar characteristics (Alnico5 for sure) but more open and less hard hitting what you recommend me?

Oh, I didn't notice that there's a separate RD mid. Yeah, that would suggest that the mid is slightly hotter. A step down in output and more open than the JB out of the pups I've tried would be the Custom 5. I had a Custom 5 in an HSS with a JB Jr and a Lil 59 and it worked well.

Except the C5 is really scooped in the mids, quite the opposite of the JB.

Yes, that's a forum favorite. There's also the Jason Becker.

Isn't that just a regular Hybrid?

The regular hybrid would be the '59/Custom which would work great. If we're talking a C5/59 hybrid, then I would think that would be mega-scooped since the '59 is already scooped and the C5 even more so.

The 59/Custom Hybrid has an A5 magnet. The Custom has a ceramic magnet. The Hybrid has 1 coil of a Custom, and one coil of a 59. So the more accurate description of the Hybrid is a 59/Custom 5 Hybrid.

Ah, that's right, the regular Custom is ceramic with the Hybrid as A5. That's not really scooped? I've used all the others, just not the Hybrid.

The coil mismatch gives it more mids.

It is no more scooped than any PAF...it doesn't sound like a C5 at all.
