  • The Epi clone of the LP Jack Cassidy sig... so pretty. Gibby's had some real beauties over the years; even the 80's re-issue of the LP singlecut was pretty hot (see the vid for John Mellencamp's version of "Wild Night" w/ Me'shell Ndegeocello). For some reason, Gib never had any self-confidence in their basses, and always felt they had to push the guitars. Yeah, sure, Fender was and is the elephant in the room, that everyone has to measure themselves against. But I wouldn't trade my LP Triumph for anything. I gig with a MIM '03 Jazz on occasion, because the LP is one heavy hunk o' wood, and I don't want it getting any more beat up than it is. But for recording, it'll out-Jaco the Jazz all day long, and it's got a tight thickness that no Precision could ever beat. Like I've said before, it slaps like a jilted lover.
The one I played was a dual-cutaway, rather than a single. It was a single pup, neck mounted, looked sort of like the one from an EB-0.

Looked like this, but in tobacco burst with the split-diamond headstock logo:
Not a Victory. I've tried a Ripper, and there was a semi-hollow tobacco burst with a single pup (name?) I tried out in a music store years ago.
I also don't strike myself as a cat lovin alcoholic drug addict either..............

    but so what....ya know? I don't care..lol

Hi, AZ. I just want to apologise for the fact that your recent Squier Guitars thread descended into a slanging match between me, AllroyPA and an Australian who refused to admit that he was mistaken. Thirty years from now, you could be as grumpy as the three of us,. I hope not! :)
