  • Besides the PA (We use EV eliminators 1 series), I am currently using unpowered full range (Peavey) monitors and a Mesa 2/50/50.

That Mesa 2/50/50 does color the tone and guitar cabinets are too heavy and cumbersome - resulting in large airline charges for weight and size.

As I said before, I want (Need) to lower the weight (And size) of the gear that I lug around the far east.

I will take a look at the JBL PRX series. Thanks.
It's cool bro, I'm done. You know me, I try to have a good time all the time. It does bother me that just a handful of members that don't care for me find that it is needed to make a new thread every other day complaining about things they are just as guilty of, if not more so, than any of the rest of us.
Awesome! Your days will now be filled having to deal with all of T4D's reports. I think that's queer, and by queer, I mean peculiar. :smack:
    Jeremy:

I am looking for a great pair of active monitors to work with Eleven Rack, rather than just going into the PA as I am currently doing. I plan to use both.

    Any thoughts or suggestions?

Should be lighter than carting amps and cabinets around the far east.
Thanks for the input..I will probably have a guitar tech make the connections to save myself some headaches.
    Hi Jeremy
I hav just put my guitar back together after making my humbuckers 1 core instead of 4. The problem is I now have a hum. Both pickups give an output but I am wondering if I have soldered the wrong cables together inside the pickup. If I have done it the wrong way round is this why I have hum or if I did wire them together wrong would they just not work. I have just reopened the pickups up to see what wires I did put together. I have the white off both coils joined together then one of the black off a coil going to the center of the one core and the other balck from the other coil going to the sheilding. I have I done this correct or have I made a mistake and need to change the wires round. I have also changed all electrics in my guitar so it is possible it is something else I have done. What do you think?
    Hi Jeremy
I have had a go at this at work just now.
I am not able to get the pickups back in my guitar to check them as my guitar is having some work done on it at the moment but I have put a multi meter on to the end of the one core cable that I installed. I get a reading of 8.31 on the bridge pickup and 7.42 on the neck pickup so I take it as I am getting these readings that I have done this job correctly and the pickups are all fine?
Sorry to be annoying but I have just thought of one last question before I go. If I brought a Seymour Duncan pickup that came with a one core cable to start with. Would they still have the soldered black and white wires attached to the red and white wires together that are taped up as well or would a one core not have them wires at all?
Thanks very much for getting back to me so quick. Ok well this does seem quite fiddley but its something I gotta do and your instructions seem easy to follow. Im gonna give this a try tomorrow. Fingures crossed. If I do run into a problem I will give you a shout. Many thanks
They are Seymour Duncan of course lol. All my guitars have Duncans in them. I wouldnt use any thing else!
As for cheating I would sooner do it properly.
Im just a bit anal like that. I just think if im gonna do it I might as well do the job properly.
Im not scarred or worried about doing this as I always fiddle with all sort of guitar stuff but I only fiddle if I have clear instructions of what I need to do as I obviuosly dont want to muck things up and that is were I hope you can step in and help me.
    Hi
I was wondering if you can help.
You posted a reply on a thread I started a while back about converting a 4 conductor humbucker cable over to a single core (braided vintage style wire). I was wondering if you could give me some detailed instructions on how to do this properly as I have decided that this is what I want to do. I know it might be a bit tricky etc for such a small negligible difference in tone but I am doing this for more for visual inside the cavity plate (still a real silly reason I know but its what I want to do lol). If you could give me a step by step instruction that would be great. The humbucker I have is open coil not covered. I hope you can help. Many thanks for your time. Cheers
    Gavin
Just so you know, the pic of bill wasn't anything as bad as he would make it out.
