It's weird to see people in this thread say they don't want huge, awesome guitar tones.

I like that the low end leans more towards sledgehammer than surgical. I love the fat low end crunch it gives me. If I do have one complaint, though, it’s that I can’t get those greasy bluesy sounds, but that could just as easily be flaws in my technique.

I fixed my specific problem by screwing the pole pieces in a half turn each. It’s still brighter than the Custom it replaced, but it’s a nice present top end rather than being ear-piercingly sharp.
