1 push/push for coil split x2 and 1 push/push for reverse phase. It’s on a LP.

Hey fantastic guys and gals. Been trying to get this done e for a hot minute. 2 Diagrams from G. electronics has not been successful. Haven’t seen one that will allow coil split on 1 push / push and 1 for phase. Using 2 vol and 2 tone. Probably wired this thing up 6 or 7 times from scratch just can’t seem to get it to work. splitting seems to be alright although super weak from pups even when cranked. Put the phase in zero sound. Solder skills are adequate not a problem that I know of but I would say above average. Had this going last time was mocked up for testing not finished. Any help appreciated.

this is totally doable, i have it on one of my homemade guitars. let me see if i can find a schematic

I just did the push-push's for split & phase quik 'n dirty. The one on the right can be either the bridge or neck. Whichever one you want to OOP.

Just throwing this out there - since you have two other pots available for switching, etc., you could wire one of them (probably the neck tone control) to be a bass cut / treble cut directional tone control, or a simple push/pull bass cut in addition to being a standard tone control. This can be done by jerry-rigging a fender TBX tone control, or guitarelectronics.com sells a pot designed for this purpose.

The ability to cut bass from the neck pickup when you're doing phase switching is actually quite cool. I have several guitars wired this way. When you're in the out-of-phase position, and you get that nasally / cutting / upper mids type tone, cutting bass from the neck pickup actually ADDS BASS BACK to the sound, because it reduces the amount of cancellation you're getting form having the neck and bridge out of phase with one another. Essentially, you can slightly fatten up your out-of-phase tone so it's still thin and cutting, but with a little more bass.

Of course, you can also just roll back the volume slightly on one of the out-of-phase PUPs to capture a similar benefit, but specifically cutting bass does open up your tonal palette a little bit IMO. Worth a shot if you have the time to wire it.

I hate to say this but I think Artie got the oop wiring incorrect (that surprises me because Artie is almost always right!).

The black lead from the split p/p should go to the middle lug on the right side (where he has another black wire wire). There should be no wire attached to the lower left lug.

Pretty sure it's correct doc. The black wire on the middle right, is the pickup black (hot) wire. I probably shoulda labeled it more clearly.
The black wire from the left push-pull is just a jumper to ground. I probably shoulda made it a different color. :)
