12 thousand dollars LP Gibson custom shop.

I found on Ebay a LP custom shop guitar. Some gear snobs said over kill and look like a ugly Schecter. Some cheap players loved it. It may not be worth 12 thousand but it is beautiful to look at. Look at the pictures. What do you think of it besides the high price?

its pretty alright. if i ever spend $12k on a guitar, ive lost my mind. the wood rings are a nice touch

I Love the quilt (although Id prefer black stained) but the neck inlay and tuning keys are alittle "much". I can appreciate the work that goes into something like this, but the price still seems crazy. Ironically, a few years ago, I had a Michael Kelly patriot Q guitar that was the same color, gold hardware, tonepros bridge, nicer looking inlays, etc that probably played as well, that cost $375. haha

Vines abalone, and most quilt drives me nuts when taken on an individual basis.

Together- I have nothing to say that wouldn't be censored by the forum software or a mod. :bigthumb:

As a work of art and craftsmanship, it's beautiful. It's not really what I want in a guitar, but it looks to be well done. I view them as tools and prefer mine to be fairly simple and/or plain.

agreed on both.. It blows my mind how many guitars are getting up in that range. Lots of PRS' are upwards of $8k or more. There is ESP explorer that Id love to have on ebay thats close to $5k. No can do.. Ive learned that I dont play or sound any better on a nice guitar vs a crazy expensive guitar. Actually, I play worse on a crazy expensive guitar cuz Im too afraid of marking it up or something..

I'm a Studio guy. 'Nuff said regarding my feelings toward this particular guitar.

As a piece of art, the craftmanship is top notch and deserving of every penny.


As a guitar, it's not really my vibe and would instead be relegated to a show piece for me.

I like understatement in just about everything, from my clothes to the way that I speak.

That guitar is such a strong polar opposite of what I'd custom-order if I had $12.000 to spare, that my English falls flat on its face trying to explain it.

The guitar is spectacular. Thanlks for posting this. I'm sure its priced at top dollar. IME, its a solid 10K Les Paul and a fine investment at that, and the Creme de la Creme of Custom shop instruments. Unless you are going vintage, you'd have you have rocks in your head to disparage or not have appreciation for this in any way.
IN fact , I'm going to buy it ( if I win the N.J. State Lottery).

LOL!! Well, been a few years. I thought the Michael Kelly was the same color, but it was actually a burst.. Just for the halibut, here are some pics..

No offense, but I really don't think that belongs in the same Grouper, but thnaks for Snappering the pic, it's got a lot of Sole.

Only has 57 classics in in though, wow. Thought a custom shop guiatr of that caliber would have gibson equivalents of zephyrs.
